• Since settling into the new building Alstonville Community Preschool has been successful in obtaining several grants to help with continuous improvement of the preschool playground, educational resources and furniture and building additions and maintenance. These grants include:

2019 – Quality Learning Environments no.2

2018 – Quality Learning Environments no.1; Community Grant; Start Strong Pathways (which has enabled the preschool to run a weekly playgroup in 2018 and 2019)

2017 – Department of Environment Grant to install solar panels

2016 – Little Green Thumbs; Sidney Myer Grant; Community Preschool Outreach Grants

  • September 2016 Alstonville Community Preschool achieved a rating of Exceeding the National Standards in their second Assessment and Rating visit by the NSW Department of Education.
  • February 2016 Alstonville Community Preschool opened the doors to our new purpose built community preschool
  • July 2015 Ballina Shire Councilors voted to contribute a further $44,000 to the project to cover the costs of site preparation, drainage and car parking.
  • In May 2015 Alstonville Community Preschool turned the sod at Crawford Park and work commenced on the build!
  • In December 2014 Alstonville Community Preschool received a $77,000 grant from the Community Building Partnership Program toward the internal fit out of the new preschool.
  • In September 2014 Alstonville Community Preschool achieved a rating of Exceeding National Standards in their first Assessment and Rating visit by the NSW Department of Education and Communities.
  • In July 2014 the Development Application for Crawford Park was submitted to Ballina Shire Council being notified of Development Consent in November 2014.
  • In February 2014 Alstonville Community Preschool opened it’s door for the first time at it’s temporary venue at Amaze n Place, Wardell Road.
  • In December 2013 a capital grant of $384,881 (exc GST) was received from the NSW Department for Education and Communities and in April 2013 a contribution of $120,000 (exc. GST)  was received from Ballina Shire Council. These funds are to be utilised toward the development of a new purpose built preschool at Crawford Park in Alstonville.
  • In 2013 a $4000 grant was received from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal and was used to purchase educational resources for the children.
  • In 2012 Alstonville Community Preschool achieved a Volunteers Grant from the Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. This enabled the purchase of shade and storage facilities for the temporary site.
